Patrick M. Boucher holds a Ph.D. in physics awarded by Queen’s University (Kingston, Canada) for his thesis on Electromagnetic and Hadronic Probes of Nuclei. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility in Newport News, Virginia (now called the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility), he became an editor of Physical Review B where he oversaw the peer-review process for thousands of papers published in the fields of condensed-matter and materials physics.  He is a lifetime member of the American Physical Society, the largest organization of physicists in the United States.
